 Are you ready to experience the precision of using rulers or templates on you home sewing machine?  This hands-on class will walk you through using rulers to create basic designs.  If you’ve been frustrated by free motion, then rulers are for you!

 Supplies Required:

 Sewing machine with ruler foot designed to be used with templates/rulers and base table that fits machine or an extended base like Sew Steady Extension Table

 2 Quilt Sandwiches:  1 for practice and 1 for project

18” x 18” light solid or light tone on tone print for top fabric

20” x 20” backing fabric

19” x 19” light weight batting; spray basted or fused, NO PINS!

 50 wt thread blending with top fabric and a full machine bobbin like Aurafil

 Blue water soluble fabric marker

 Large ruler for drawing grid on fabric like 6” x 24” Olfa

 Straight Line Template/Ruler in appropriate acrylic thickness for your machine

            Example:  Creative Grids by Angela Walters “Slim” ruler

 Gentle Curve/Arc Template/Ruler in appropriate acrylic thickness for your machine

            Example: Creative Grids by Angela Walters “Smiley” ruler

 Note: Creative Grids have built in grips on the back of their rulers.  If you are using another brand, you must have some type of grip on the back.

            Example:  Handiquilter Handi Grip

 Optional Supplies:

 Leaf, Oval, or Circle Template/Ruler in appropriate acrylic thickness for your machine

            Example: Angela Walters “Taj” ruler
