- Sewing machine that you are familiar with in good working order, foot control, presser feet, machine manual, bobbins, (Optional: narrow edge, edge joining, or topstitching foot)
- Sewing machine needles (size 80/12)
- Scissors for fabric and scissors for paper
- Basic sewing notions- seam ripper, pins or clips, point turner
- Fabric marker- Frixion, chalk, air, or water-soluble

- Fabric (no checks, stripes or plaids) Suggested Fabrics: Lightweight to Midweight Woven fabric such as quilting cotton, or cotton batik
- Pre-wash, dry, and press fabric
