Supply List for “Patchwork Illusions”
Fabric for Cubes:
We recommend purchasing 1/2 yard each of 2 different ombre fabrics that work well together such as blue and green. Ombre fabrics give you shades from dark to light on one bolt of fabric. (Right now Stitch-N-Time has ombres in a wide variety of colors.)
If you aren't using ombre fabric...
choose two color families that work well together such as blue and green.
Make sure the fabrics are non-busy prints. Select a fat quarter of the following
in each color family: a light, a medium and a dark.
If you are using your ‘stash’, bring several color families that have a light, a
medium, and a dark. This will give you a chance to mix and match your color
This is the only fabric you will need for this class. We will discuss background
fabrics during class, but you won’t need to make that selection at this time.
Of course, bring the usual sewing supplies…rotating mat, if possible! It will
make it much easier to cut your pieces. There is no need for any pre-cutting
before class. The usual supplies…rotary cutter, ruler…12” x 6” is the best size.
Anything bigger or smaller will be hard to work with. Of course, small snips/
scissors, and a making pen/pencil. Don’t forget your sewing machine!
You will need the pattern which will be available for purchase from Stitch-N-Time.
Two different size acrylic diamond templates are included in the pattern.
